PHILIPPINE NETWORK FOR INJURY DATA MANAGEMENT SYSTEM ESTABLISHED

MOA Signing on Philippine Network for Injury Data Management SystemThe Department of Health, represented by Health Secretary Enrique T. Ona, today signed a Memorandum of Agreement establishing the Philippine Network for Injury Data Management System (PNIDMS). The PNIDMS aims to develop a data management system that will link and integrate all injury data from various sources in order to aid policy makers at the national, regional and local levels on the incidence of injury in the country. Presently, injury ranks as the 4th leading cause of deaths.

Other signatories include Dr. John Juliard Go from World Health Organization, Mr. Abdul Alim from United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), Assistant Secretary Virginia Torres from Land Transportation Office, PSSUPT Sheldon Jacaban from Philippine National Police, Ms. Corazon Japson from Department of Transportation & Communications, Engr. Solita Ginota from Department of Public Works & Highways, and Ms. Ma. Theresa Perez from Safe Kids Phils, Inc.
